Salvation

If you have not been raised in a Christian church setting words like "lost" and "saved" may sound more like a bad day in the woods or a road trip gone awry. In the Bible these words have very special meanings that speak to the deepest needs of the human soul and its eternal relationship with God.

Being "lost" means being condemned to eternity lost from God and His love and mercy. It also means being condemned to the eternal punishment of Hell from which we need to be "saved".

Here is a Biblical approach to "Salvation":

1) You must realize you are a sinner.

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one." Romans 3:10

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23

2) You must realize sin has a price tag or consequences.

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." Romans 5:12

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

3)You must realize Jesus Christ paid the price for your sins.

But God commendeth his love toward us , in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

4) You must repent of your sins and ask for God's forgiveness. Trust (believe in) Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and receive forgiveness and Salvation.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9,10

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13
